Meditation is the science of managing the minds behavior and then ultimately going beyond the conditioning of the mind completely. The mind is often in a state of flux, thinking about things that happened yesterday or worrying about events in the future and this causes conflict within. Meditation attempts to still the turbulent thought processes of the mind by using the power of concentration, awareness and mental detachment. Sebastian teaches various Yoga and Meditation techniques to help still the mental agitation of the mind that cause suffering. "There are many techniques to stilling the mind, one is the use of breath, another is the use of sound vibrations, detaching from thoughts is also helpful, awareness of thought patterns, Yogic Mudras can be performed and also some Yoga postures can assist in developing a meditative state of mind". Visualization is also an important tool in creating a happy and successful future. The untapped power of the subconscious mind can bring about both spiritual and material wealth. As human beings we use very little of our mental potential, we often use the agitated surface layer of mind and never dive deeper into the intuitive subconscious mind for guidance and help. The image of the iceberg represents the usual state of affairs for most of us, the cap represents the amount of mental power we usually access and the large area submerged under the water depicts the untapped subconscious.

Meditation class- Watching the thoughts: 24th August 2010 at 7.45 p.m.
This hour long class incorporates some preparatory breathing exercises to help still the energy in the body. We then use some ancient concentration techniques to focus the mind on to one point. When the mind has become focused, we then detach from the practice to allow the mind to settle. We then spend some time watching the thoughts that our mind creates and become a witness to the activity of the mind. This practice can be done at home, at work or in a peaceful natural setting.
When we can take a step back from our mind in times of negativity and stress, we slowly become a master of the mind rather than a slave to it. Sometimes the only way to see problems clearly is to watch the situation from a distance, this meditation class will give you practical tools to watch negative thoughts and feelings that cause unhappiness.
